It took me a day or so but I managed to sort out how to get out on a boat without having to venture through the surf, clinging to a Zodiac!
it was worth it .. some great action shots for the last day of racing , followed by presentation and a wonderful dinner catered by Keppel Bay Sailing Club.
As at every event the volunteers are the backbone of the event.. they man boats, sizzle sausages, handle trolleys, serve the bar and make the sandwiches.. so a big thankyou to the volunteers of KBSC.
Getting the boats ready
|
organising my ride!
A dedicated band of volunteers worked all week preparing boats, |
Bevan kept the Barbara R going ..
and then the action started
|
but this was just the warm up..
there was Perrin action
lessons in flight..
submarining
some played chasey
others appeared a little more at ease..
there was plenty of spray
highs and lows
there were people disappearing ..
and if not sinking below the waves, they were flying past,
bow thrusters ..
or evan AIRBORNE in Johns case
there were capsizes all over the course
fierce competition
colours to brighten the green waters
There was Show me your abs!.. ie.. Hiking
Races finished ,
.. and finally it was all over..
boats were packed on trailers for the long and longer journeys home...
The beach was back to peace and quiet...
and then presentations were made..
Bob was made a life member..
and shared a story or two
Steve took the silver
everybody won a prize..
Michael Brown took home the silver.. AGAIN !!
said a word or two
the Queensland Team had a photo
opportunity
Michael made use of the drinking cup..
with a little help from his friends..
and the happy smiles said it all...
Until next year..
